Alumni Zoom Webinar

The Sophia Centre Alumni Association presents a webinar with

Alejo Lopez

Mars, Venus, and Everyone in Between:
Rethinking Gender in Astrology

Monday 28th April 2025, 18.30 - 20.00 BST (GMT/UT -1)

This presentation will feature novel insights, distinct from those shared in prior webinars or conferences. My research started with my own difficulty in understanding what 'masculine' and 'feminine' mean. So, here I explore how astrologers view this polarity.

Astrology is rooted in tradition but also offers a polysemantic language. I’ll expand on my past explorations, delving into whether archetypes are seen as inherently gendered and re-examining the astrological implications of Freud's statement ('Anatomy is destiny) with these exciting new insights. Finally, I will suggest directions for further research by considering not only the Sun and the Moon.
