MA Dissertation Winners


The MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology Alumni Association Dissertation Prize

The MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology Alumni Association Dissertation Prize is awarded for the best dissertation submitted for the MA within the calendar year 1April - 31 March. The prize of £250 is funded by the Alumni Association of the MA Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. The judges are the Programme Director and the Tutors of the Sophia Centre. The award is now a University Prize and is read out, or given out if the graduate is present, at the UWTSD Graduation Ceremony in Lampater, Ceredigion, Wales, each June.

The winners so far are:

2016: Astrid B. Leimlehner

TITLE: Psychological Dimensions Of Early 20th Century Astrology: An investigation of four German astrology books of the 1920s and 1930s.
Supervisor: Nicholas Campion

2017: Daniel Enrique Zagari

TITLE: The assimilation of the planet Uranus into the practice of astrology in England in the period 1781-1890.
Supervisor: Garry Phillipson
