There is a great deal of free information on the internet, but those with free open access are Jurn.org and Doaj.org, while publishers like Oxford, Wiley and Sage have partly open access. Regarding free research tools, the web site research4life.org presents different free academic tools such as referencing management, visualising and organising data.
However, for those Alumni who want to continue doing research using such sites as JSTOR, that are usually only free to students enrolled in University courses, often for a minimum payment, local and National libraries offer access to such websites. For example, through the National Library in Oslo people can have access to JSTOR. It's worth checking out this in your home town.
