Trip to Stonehenge Thursday 15th September 2016
This early morning tour is to go inside the Stonehenge monument, amongst the stones. This is not allowed during the normal daytime tourist access. There will be no opportunity to experience the Visitor Centre on this trip.
Pick up 05:15 outside Conference centre - 16 Queen Square, Bath. Don't be late!
Coach company is Arleen Coach Hire.
Access to stones at 06:45-07:45.
Return to coach for journey back to Bath at 08.15. Back in Bath approximately 09:35.
The charge for the trip is £25.
Registration is now closed.
It can be very cold on Salisbury Plain in the early morning whatever the season - please dress accordingly.
English Heritage, who have stewardship of Stonehenge, have strict rules for access, some of which are:
1. No camera tripods are allowed.
2. No eating is allowed within the stones.
The site is policed by security guards who will remove you if you break these, and other, rules. Please listen carefully to the security guard at the start of the tour.
English Heritage reserves the right to cancel access to the stones if there is inclement weather. If this unlikely event occurs we will then only be allowed the normal tourist access on the pathway 20-30 metres away from the stones. There will be no possibility for a rebate of the charge if this happens.
