Call for Papers
Proposals are invited for 25 minute talks on the inspiration of astronomy, the stars, planets and sky in the arts, literature, film, religion, philosophy politics, or any aspect of human culture, ancient or modern. We welcome proposals from academics in the sciences and humanities, independent scholars, and artists who work with astronomy or the sky and wish to speak about their work.
The Conference, to be held at Gresham College, Holborn, London, will feature a number of former Gresham Professors of Astronomy, including Lord Rees of Ludlow, Astronomer Royal and President of the Royal Society 2005-10, who will be giving a public lecture as part of the conference programme.
Talks will be limited to approximately 50 sessions (not counting keynote and invited speakers) and there will be no parallel sessions. Overall attendance will be limited to 70.
Deadline for abstract submission 30 January 2015.
The programme will be announced on 21 February 2015.
Please note that the conference will consist only of oral presentations, and there will be no posters or art exhibition.
