Next on the agenda was a visit to the world famous Samarkand Registan. The wheather however was not very inspiring, so we've posted the following 5 photos taken two days earlier on Saturday 22 Oct.

Many places, in flower beds, basil was growing almost "wild".

While we were waiting on lunch, the kitten didn't mind a good rubbing on the head (and nose).

From the observation tower one has fine views of Bukhara incl. the old city walls.


A common sight: these soviet times looking lorries are a real work horse around Uzbekistan.


On the way to Khiva one of the buses in the 2 bus caravan stopped to have a closer look at the desert.
